Job Summary ARA is always interested in highly motivated Senior Digital Controls Electrical Engineers for its Antenna Positioner products business. ARA has a wide variety of antenna positioner products used for RADAR, SATCOM, and EW systems. Ideal candidates would have extensive experience in electronic and electro-mechanical hardware, especially in design and implementation of control systems. Essential Functions Developing Electronic Hardware control systems for Antenna positioner products Developing top level test bench for simulating and verifying design architecture. Writing digital design drawings/specifications/ICDs. Post-design support and troubleshooting using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers and other test equipment. Skills and Abilities In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Schematic generation for board, chassis and system level hardware including component selection and circuit analysis. Experience transitioning design ideas to product offerings including product maturation and design for manufacturability. Proficient at analyzing test results and relating them to design characteristics and manufacturing methods. Proficient at C/C++ programming and communications protocols such as BLE, I2C, UART, CAN bus. Proven track record designing, testing, and optimizing electronics and software/firmware for control systems. Experience with designing 2 and 3 Axis controls for robots or antenna positioners. Experience with version control tools and methods. Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Desired Skills Digital hardware and software/firmware experience to MCUs (ARM), and SoC devices and their use in embedded systems. Designs using SPI protocols. Experience interfacing with IMU or accelerometer MEMS sensor. Working knowledge of ModelSim or equivalent simulation tool for design verification testing Printed Circuit Board Assembly design and layout Experience with interfacing with highspeed ADC/DACs Experience with sensors (RTD, current shunts, fuse detection), high-voltage or high-current switching, opto-isolation, limit switches, linear actuators.
