Hackensack Meridian Health Multimodality Technician, Full-Time in North Bergen, New Jersey

A Multimodality Technician I is a radiology technician who is trained, credentialed and competent in at least two of the following disciplines. The technician is expected to work in any area competent based on operational needs of the department.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Multimodality Technician at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Confirms patient identification, obtains pertinent information or history in order to perform the diagnostic procedure.

  • Maintain equipment performance, for the respective modality, by conducting daily checks, or QC. Report any issues to Bio-med and the managers.

  • Assist in the PI/QA program for Radiology, under the direction of the managers.

  • Prepare documentation as per requirements of the hospital and regulatory agencies.

  • Provide instructions, as needed to the patients, ancillary personnel, nursing or students.

  • Maintain CE¿s, registry as required and license for each modality assigned.

  • Perform with acceptable competency and productivity for each modality approved for assignment. (see respective job description)

  • Assist in the IT function of the respective modality.

  • Prepares contrast for administration, where applicable.

  • Prepare results for interpretation by the radiologist.

  • Performs all duties within the scope of professional standards and accepted practices

  • Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for department and Medical Center.

  • Monitor inventory levels and supplies in areas worked.

  • Evaluate requests for pertinent information,

  • Transport patients safely, on the proper equipment, as needed.

  • Perform general office duties, including, but not limited to answering the phone, making copies, maintaining medical records, covering reception, and other assignments.

  • Monitor charges to ensure proper billing.

  • Assist in training new team members and student interns.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology

  • NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology

  • Certification in other modalities

  • IV Certification

  • Three (3) years' experience in diagnostic radiology

  • Experience in the secondary modality, however a certified graduate may be trained
