Job Description

The Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Systems Engineer is responsible for administration, maintenance, and tuning of all Navy's Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client/server architecture used to support the development, testing, and delivery of the Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment (STAVE) program and other simulation applications and services for the NCTE.

Candidate will be part of a team that performs system engineering, system integration, hardware and software support, and technical and administrative support services for systems within STAVE. Candidate will provide IT services and support baseline updates, installation services, software support services, and system administration services. Candidate will provide services for any and all phases of system engineering, integration and support to ensure customers meet mission goals and objectives. These efforts include the full range of infrastructure design, implementation and integration, including, but not limited to, concept development, planning, requirements definition and analysis, systems design, integration, testing, implementation, deployment, support and sustainment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10, Server 2016 and 2022

  • Basic understanding of Active Directory.

  • Experience with VMWare vSphere, including architecture design, troubleshooting, and management.

  • Experience with VMWare Horizon VDI environments

  • Experience with 3D graphical virtualization (NVIDIA GRID technology) preferred

  • Experience resolving more complex technical problems through a defined escalation process.

  • Experience with upgrades, migrations and integration.

  • Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities

  • Experience with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

  • Experience with iSCSI a plus

  • Experience with Powerstore storage devices a plus

  • Security + and Microsoft or VMWare certification

  • Candidate must meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT Level 2

  • Must be a US Citizen and currently hold and able to maintain a US Secret

    security clearance.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
