Robert Half Trade Accounting Specialist - A/R in Norfolk, Virginia

Description We are seeking a Trade Accounting Specialist - A/R to join our team in the transport industry in Norfolk, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for various financial planning activities, cost monitoring, and supporting decision making, contributing significantly to our financial success.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to periodic financial planning activities, such as flash, forecast, and budget for your scope, fostering a culture of financial accountability and improving operational efficiency.

• Produce monthly management results using data analysis tools, prepare comprehensive result reports, including variance analysis and recommendations for cost optimization.

• Support efficiency and cost savings initiatives through regular cost monitoring activities, providing valuable insights for resource optimization.

• Leverage your financial acumen to guide strategic choices, support business operation decisions, and enhance overall performance.

• Develop and implement dynamic dashboards/KPIs to effectively track performances versus business plans, aiding strategic decision-making.

• Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, participating in miscellaneous business control-related duties and projects, contributing to the evolution of our financial processes.

• Employ your analytical skills to compile and analyze financial data and create complex financial models.

• Utilize Microsoft Power BI to create dashboards and deliver presentations.

• Play a crucial role in annual budgeting and forecasting activities, as well as activity-based costing. Requirements • Proficiency in using Microsoft Power BI to create dashboards and generate complex financial models

• Experience in compiling and analyzing financial data for strategic decision making

• Knowledge of activity-based costing and job costing processes

• Demonstrated ability to prepare annual budgets and perform budgeting and forecasting activities

• Ability to deliver presentations to stakeholders and senior management

• Strong understanding of trade accounting in the transport industry

• Proven track record in handling accounts receivable (A/R) processes

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all work

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is preferred.
