    Bartender prepares beverages for all guests and servers in a quick, courteous, and efficient manner. Reports directly to the General Manager. Job requirements include basic reading, writing, and math skills and specialized knowledge of bartending and mixing drinks. Certification as required by state or local laws. Must meet legal age requirements of state. Extensive knowledge of mixology; cash handling procedure experience; knowledge of ABC regulations for state and local offices are required. Customer service aptitude and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Physical requirements include standing, carrying 30-75 lbs, walking, lifting, reaching overhead, pushing, bending, and able to climb a ladder.

    Job Duties Include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure that bar is clean and properly set up, i.e. supplies needed for upcoming shifts are available. Report any shortages to manage.

  • Greets guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote house drinks and utilizes up -selling skills whenever possible to maximize revenues.

  • Prepares beverages requested by guests or servers according to standard operating procedures establishing proper portions and ingredients to control costs and provide consistent product to the guest

  • Have complete and applied knowledge of alcoholic awareness program

  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all state and local ABC regulations.

  • Monitors guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notifies management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers; checks identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable

  • Inventories return of banquet bar beverages.

  • Insure that bar is completely clean and secure at end of shift

  • Promote marketing events to all guests

  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).

  • Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.

  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.

  • Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
