Job Description

Point of contact for all departmental activities related to the undergraduate program including: recruitment of freshman students, and enrollment of transfer students from community colleges; creation and updating of academic records of students; providing assistance for certification of students for graduation; advising students concerning rules, regulations and requirements for earning a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; provide support for scheduling of all departmental courses, and associated instructional activities; develop and update brochures for recruitment of new students in the program; act as liaison with alumni, and community colleges; serves as an administrative assistant to the Chair to coordinate academic activities related to students, faculty, alumni and other administrative units in the university.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

Considerable knowledge of rules and regulations concerning academic requirements for admission, continuance and graduation of undergraduate students. Considerable skills in creation, maintenance and updating of computer database for academic records of undergraduate students, using software such as Excel and Banner. Demonstrated ability to comprehend and communicate information and policies listed in the university catalog to undergraduate students and applicants.

Conditions of Employment

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 32,842
