Job Title: Medical Assistant - Norfolk, VirginiaJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to support our healthcare providers and ensure the smooth operation of our clinic. You will handle patient intake, triage, phlebotomy, EKGs, and assist with various medical procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining logs, ensuring compliance with QA processes and OSHA policies, and handling pharmaceutical prior authorizations. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Hard Skills

  • Certification or Registration Required

  • Experience with patient triage and intake

  • Phlebotomy and specimen collection

  • Performing EKGs

  • Electronic health record documentation

  • Pharmaceutical prior authorizations

  • Medicare Annual Wellness Visits

  • Electronic input of patient lab/radiology orders

Work Environment

The shift is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will be part of a team handling a patient volume of 70-85 patients per day across 3 providers.
