Robert Half Employee Relations Consultant in Norfolk, Virginia

Description We are seeking an Employee Relations Consultant to join our team, located in Norfolk, Virginia. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the industry of human resources. As an Employee Relations Consultant, you will be tasked with resolving workplace conflicts, developing strategies for employee relations programs, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic employee relations and human resources programs.

• Analyze and resolve supervisor/employee workplace conflicts effectively.

• Maintain and manipulate data in HRIS software and produce comprehensive reports.

• Interpret, implement, and explain complex policies and procedures.

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of performance evaluations in compliance with state policy and procedures.

• Provide performance management consultation to managers and employees.

• Administer employee recognition programs to promote good morale and working conditions.

• Coordinate the Annual Recognition Program and oversee the administration of the Employee of the Month Program.

• Ensure compliance and adherence to time frames in the issuance of Notices of Substandard Performance.

• Conduct an annual review of performance evaluations to identify trends that may require further intervention. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee relations or related HR field

• Demonstrated knowledge of compliance regulations and hiring processes

• Proven experience in conducting employee relations investigations

• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and address employee concerns

• Experience in supervising and managing teams, with strong supervisory management skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
