Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines. Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems. Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, heavy haul trucks, etc. Perform welding or fabrication tasks on equipment as necessary. Prepare work orders and order parts. Fuel equipment and maintain daily logs. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and meet other housekeeping needs. Perform additional assignments as needed.

Hard Skills

  • Crane Mechanic

  • Loader, Dozer, Excavator Mechanic

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair

Soft Skills

  • Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Norfolk or Newport News, Virginia.
