Skills and Requirements include:

• ASL fluency

• Proven ability to effectively interpret between ASL and English, as demonstrated by one of the following:

• VQAS Level III (II acceptable with experience)

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher

• RID certification

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently, including monitoring own schedule, arriving on-time to customer worksites, and handling situations as they arise in the field.

• High-school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  Duties and Tasks:

• Convey the message and intent of the speaker in a linguistically and culturally equivalent manner in English and/or ASL.

• Adhere to the ethical standards set by the RID-NAD Code of Professional Conduct.

• Attend assigned interpreting engagements and complete required company reporting on-time.
