Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the Construction/Contractor industry based in NILES, Ohio. In this role, you will be working in a dynamic environment where your skills in payroll and data entry will be highly valued. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate customer records, processing customer applications, and resolving customer inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Handle payroll duties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Process and manage union construction time sheets.

• Perform data entry tasks for various operations.

• Code and process accounts payable and receivable.

• Provide backup support for invoicing processes.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.

• Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally.

• Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all tasks.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow.

• Continually update skills and knowledge in payroll processing to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Proficiency in payroll software is required

• Strong understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

• High level of organization and ability to meet strict deadlines

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in finance or a related field is preferred

• Understanding of labor legislation and any other legal regulations related to payroll is a plus.
