Actalent Field Service Engineer in Niles, Michigan

Description:

Growing metal forming equipment manufacturer is looking to add a field service engineer to their team. In this role you will be traveling 90% of the time domestically and internationally to customer sites. Once you're onsite at the customer you will be responsible for working with the service manager to diagnose equipment issues and come up with a solution. For any complex problems, you will be working directly with mechanical and electrical engineers via in person or over the phone. This is a customer facing role that requires strong communication and service .When not traveling, will be working onsite to help support machine builds and understand their equipment. Candidate should have experience with resolving mechanical issues, troubleshooting PLCs and hydraulics. They could be working on installing/integrating new equipment or troubleshooting something already in place.

Typically the travel is 2-3 nights away but there are times where you could be gone for as long as 2 weeks. All of the flights and hotel stays will be booked through their travel agent. Meals and incidentals are expensed.

A big perk of this role is that you will receive premium rates for travel and stay clocked in while in the air or on the road. Anything worked for 40 hours is paid time and a half.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

PLUS:

  • PLC Programming experience

  • Experience with CNC equipment

  • Siemens PLC experience
