    Position Summary:

    The Disputes and Deductions Analyst plays a critical role in the verification of the validity of customer deductions and resolution of all customer-related disputes including Pricing, Quantity, Tax, Discounts, Rebates and Contracted Marketing Arrangements. This position identifies the Accounts Receivable (AR) Balances as being short paid due to a dispute. The Disputes and Deductions Analyst assists in driving resolution of process issues that are the root causes for the disputes as well as proposes improvements where necessary to drive operational excellence. This position collaborates with all AR functions including Cash Application, Collections, Sales, Pricing, Operations, and other departments, as necessary.

    Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Research and resolve deductions across assigned strategic accounts including monitoring trends and identifying root causes for repetitive issues

  • Manage and process deductions and reach final resolution

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, brokers, Sales, IT, Finance, Customer Service and Logistics teams to resolve or dispute deductions on customer accounts

  • Dispute invalid deductions and recover funds from customer accounts

  • Communicate with the company’s sales force and customer contacts on a regular basis to resolve deduction issues

  • Ensure that the correct reserves are in place at month-end close to reflect accurate collections risk on disputed AR

  • Provide necessary information for upload to customer portals and the company’s SAP system as needed to match and clear for valid deductions or to dispute and propose rebills

  • Ensure all open deductions are closed in a timely manner

  • Research any unresolved deductions and escalate appropriately to ensure quick resolution

  • Provide AR and deduction related documentation and support to internal and external auditors

  • Identify trends and implement ways to mitigate invalid deductions to ensure full revenue is recognized

  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting to management as needed on customer accounts

  • Other projects and duties as assigned

    Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business and 2 plus years of experience in AR, Collections or Dispute Management or HS Diploma/GED and 5 plus years of experience in AR, Collections or Dispute Management

  • Excellent follow up and follow through skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree

  • CPA

  • SAP experience

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge
