A certifiedprofessionalcoder willuse diagnoses and treatment procedure verbiage and convert into numerical codes using an approved disease and operation classification system. For some third-party payers, specifically the majority of patients, the codes determine the amount the hospital is reimbursed for patients stay or visits to our health system.This is anonsite only position with the opportunity to work remotely at a later date.

QUALIFICATIONS

Duties:

Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures\ Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10 and DRG coding systems\ Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations\ Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and obtain necessary information for accurate coding\ Resolve coding-related issues and discrepancies\ Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations\ Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations
