This position is responsible for maintaining peak operating conditions and efficiencies of all plant machinery and facility systems per qualifications by following preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
Essential Job Functions
Performs preventative maintenance on all plant production and facilities equipment.
Documents all work performed on appropriate daily time sheets, logs, files or work histories.
Installs, repairs, adjusts, and monitors the operation of all plant production and facilities equipment as assigned.
Performs detailed maintenance or other duties as assigned by department supervisor, shift lead and maintenance coordinator in all areas of equipment or plant cleanup, painting or janitorial tasks as needed.
Troubleshoots plant equipment and resolves problems by using equipment specifications, blueprints, or ladder logic.
Requisitions repair and/or replacement parts and supplies as needed and keeps accurate records of same.
Work in a safe manner with all plant equipment, hand, and power tools and with all basic electrical and mechanical test and measurement equipment. Keep work and department areas clean and organized.
Maintain an awareness and complete required training regarding all harsh environmental factors in and around the facility. Monitor for harsh conditions and wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, shoes, respirators, and back braces as required.
Shuts down and starts up the plant safely before and after operating or extended shut down periods as assigned.
Will maintain an inventory of personal tools as well as being responsible for company tool inventories and equipment records.
Complete training and become a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT.)
Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The work environment is fast paced.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have the ability to frequently stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel or grasp objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; ascend and descend stairs; balance; kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move/carry light to medium weights of up to 50 pounds as measured with the NIOSH lifting equation as a recommended weight limit. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Education/Experience/Skills Required
High School diploma or equivalent
2 yrs Community College or Trade School preferred
5 to 7 years experience in a similar industry
Strong mechanical problem-solving skills required
Technical knowledge in blueprint reading and layouts
Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
Experience with PLCs and PLC driven devices required
Experience with servo motors and motor drives
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems desired
Training Requirements
