Job Description

To provide information to visitors, staff and contractors. Use of paging, radios and phones. Route all incoming calls to Newton Correctional Facility to the appropriate area. Provide non-technical information and inquiries from visitors and staff. Assistance in areas of record keeping and documentation as needed.

Greet visitors at Newton Correctional Facility and document their visit, to include time arrive, time left and reason for visit. Provide clerical assistance to various department as requested or needed. This includes but is not limited to filing, organizing, scanning, data entry, etc. Tracking of all staff in and out of the secure perimeter. Receives all incoming mail. Sorts and shakes down all incoming and out going mail. Give mail that requires postage to the appropriate personnel. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or another member of Management.

Hours of work will be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

The equivalent of one year of full-time experience in general office, sales, reception, tour guide or related work experience which involved direct and regular contact with people;

OR

graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalency;

OR

satisfactory completion of a recognized job-related training course at the high school or equivalent level (MDTA, CEP, WIN, etc.) for the required experience.
