East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a Special Services Assistant to join our team and provide a nurturing and safe classroom environment for children in the Early Head Start program in Newport, If you are looking for a rewarding career and to make a difference in a childs life, then you have found the right path with a unique opportunity in Head Start at EBCAP.

Support the functioning of the special services component to ensure the identification of students with special needs in accordance with the Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards and with the overall mission, goals, and objectives of EBCAP. Ensure that all children identified with special needs have appropriate special education and related services to meet their unique needs. Ensure that the rights of children with disabilities and their parents are protected in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Provide support and coaching to classroom teachers to make appropriate accommodations and implement classroom strategies to meet children's individual needs.

Minimum Required Education:Minimum of an Associates Degree in ECE or ECE special education. Bachelors Degree preferred OR AA or BA in a related field with experience with preschool children or other combination of education and experience considered.
