Pacific Seafood Accounts Payable Specialist in Newport, Oregon

Summary:
Responsible for accounts payable functions, assisting with managing and controlling financial and accounting systems. To process and account for all invoices. Will provide support with overall combined financial and management reporting. Support all office administration functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Full cycle A/P, matching, vouchering, and GL coding.
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms. Process check requests Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
1099 maintenance
Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
Assist in month end closing, generating monthly financial and management reports.
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices Utilizes computerized accounting software programs (AS400, APC, Excel, and Word) to perform duties and responsibilities.
Generates and updates accounting statements and reports, coding and posting of receipts.
Ensure that all appropriate tax forms, registration, licenses, etc. are accurately prepared and submitted
Oversees customer accounts, accounts receivable write-offs and payment reversals.
Develops automated spreadsheets.
Assists in maintaining up to date financial records.
Maintains vendor relationships.
Organizes and maintains retention AR/AP files for required period of time.
Create Bills of Lading.
Assist with preparing periodic reports including earnings, taxes, and deductions
Will assist with other general office tasks
Perform other duties, as assigned
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required:
High school diploma/GED equivalent
Two or more years related experience
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Strong Computer skills in MS Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel
