Job Title: Shipfitter

Job Description

As a Shipfitter, you will ensure that all tasks are completed safely and meet quality standards. You are required to have your own basic tools and equipment, unless provided by the workplace. Your responsibilities will include laying out, fabricating, and bracing metal structural parts such as plates, bulkheads, and frames. You will position parts within the hull of the ship, align them accurately, and secure them in place for welding. Furthermore, you will install various structural accessories, prepare molds for nonstandard parts, and may perform tack welding and shaping of heavy metal parts using shop machinery. You will also be tasked with keeping your work area clean, following company rules, maximizing productivity with your team, preparing products for shipment, and reporting unsafe work conditions.
