Ferguson is actively hiring a Fleet Analyst - Maintenance Management!
Location: This is a hybrid role based in Newport News, VA. Our hybrid schedule is 3 days in the office (usually Tues, Wed, Thurs) and 2 days Remote (Mon and Fri)
Overall Job Objective:
As the Fleet Analyst you will play a critical role in optimizing our fleet and serve as a dedicated resource to support our centralized fleet management operation of 5,500+ class 1-8 vehicles across 50 States and 1700+ locations, emphasizing safety and world-class customer service. The Fleet Analyst will be responsible for managing maintenance operations that requiring technical knowledge and collaboration with internal team members, vendors, and OEMs. Key responsibilities include identifying, creating, and implementing continuous improvements, efficiencies, compliance, and savings to operations while ensuring adherence to safety and compliance policies, standards, and procedures.
This role is dynamic and requires a blend of technical knowledge, critical thinking, and effective communication to ensure the fleet’s optimal performance and alignment with organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage fleet related programs and operations for Class 1-8 vehicles and trailers to optimize operational performance, safety, and compliance needs.
Showcase effective influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills with various OEMs and upfitters.
Recommend improvements in policies, procedures, plans and controls.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding and prior maintenance experience with various OEM (original equipment manufacturers) and classes of vehicles.
Possess technical knowledge vehicle and trailer maintenance programs and fleet operations.
Make key recommendations on safety measures related to fleet operations for vehicles and trailers.
Understanding fleet industry sourcing principles and concepts as it relates to maintenance and fleet operations.
Adhere to warranty policies and procedures established by OEM.
Financial Analysis:
Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions about fleet maintenance operations, spend, and vehicle performance.
Manage vendor, programs, and spend to make cost effective decisions.
Audit and process monthly expenses related to fleet maintenance programs and services.
Ensure billing invoices are processed within established guidelines and accurate maintenance records are maintained.
This person will negotiate with external vendors and drive operational excellence through fleet analysis and performance monitoring.
Track, audit, and manage maintenance spend, preventative maintenance, and warranty support.
This role focuses on strategic oversight, including replace vs. repair evaluations and the development of data-driven recommendations for procurement, maintenance, and disposal using operational performance of vehicles and trailers.
Operational Expertise:
Demonstrate operational knowledge of fleet operations and programs, with a focus on maintenance, warranty, and rentals.
Ability to prioritize repairs to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable delivery vehicles and trailers.
Understand and execute decisions on maintenance and warranty repairs.
Oversee and ensure corrective maintenance and repairs are performed to documented compliance standards, efficiently, safe and in a timely manner.
Prior experience working collaboratively with Fleet Management Companies (FMC).
Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in fleet operations.
Data Analysis and Performance Enhancement:
Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Analyze operational performance to advise vehicle and trailer procurement, repairs, and replacement.
Analyze vehicle data to monitor and enhance fleet operational performance and efficiencies.
Apply analytical skills for forecasting, trending, asset life cycle value, and cost analysis.
Identify and implement strategies that provide improvements for fleet efficiency and cost reduction.
Demonstrate a mentality for continuous improvement, staying updated on industry trends.
Collaboration and Compliance:
Collaborative approach to work with internal customers and fleet vendors.
Lead collaborative meetings and projects involving drivers, managers, executives, and vendors.
Act as a dedicated fleet team resource, handling calls, emails, communications, and updates.
Prioritize requests, manage time effectively, and stay organized in the fast-paced fleet environment.
Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Promote driver safety and overall fleet excellence.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Complete vehicle transfers of identified surplus fleet vehicles when required.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
5+ years of fleet operations with experience in maintenance management and warranty resolution.
Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data related to vehicle usage, specifications, cost-benefit analysis, and overall fleet performance.
CAFS or CAFM preferred but not required.

Pay Range:

$3,899.70 - $6,325.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
