Your opportunity

This position is part of the employee branch which is primarily responsible for providing wealth management and financial planning advice to Schwab’s employees, executives and Board of Directors to meet their financial needs. Comprehensive wealth management and financial planning on behalf of our employees includes, but is not limited to: retirement planning, education planning, investment management, estate planning, equity compensation, deferred compensation, active investing, banking, insurance, and lending needs. In this role, Financial Consultants provide guidance built upon the firm’s philosophy, policies, and guidelines in meeting the needs of our executives and high net worth employees.

What you have

  • 10 years of experience in financial services industry.

  • 5+ years of experience in providing financial advice in a customer-facing role.

  • Exhibits independent and strategic thinking.

  • Expert ability to manage a practice of clients, including segmentation and proactive outreach.

  • Requires strong application of CFP ® Practice Standards and CWS ® principles, beyond having the designations.

  • Expert ability to communicate with and engage employees and ultimately influence employee action with strong verbal and written presentation skills.

  • Ensures the proper risk disciplines are in place to deliver the best outcomes for our employees.

  • Ability to proactively recognize life-cycle events for employees and leverages this ability to consolidate and retain assets. Effectively probes for life-cycle events and provides appropriate financial planning advice.

Education, Licenses and designations

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work related experience.

  • Professional designations highly preferred: CFP and/or CWS.

  • Active and valid FINRA Series 7.

  • Active and valid FINRA Series 66 (63/65).

  • Active and valid insurance – Life and Health (may be obtained within 120 days of employment).

Pursuant to SAFE Act requirements, all employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the NMLS registry system and remain in good standing. You will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
