Position Overview

The Director – NOC Director is responsible for the charter of establishing, managing and expanding a best-in-class SubCom’s Network Operations Center (NOC) Services. The Director’s responsibilities include maintaining the NOC business relationships with customers, assisting the NOC Manager with all NOC operational needs. The candidate must possess the ability to identify defects in operating processes along with problem-solving skills and have an aptitude for time management leading the effort in keeping all processes current. The role will lead the NOC reporting of service impacting events and issues. The position reports to the VP of Customer Solution and the position is located in Newington, NH.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovative solutions to ensure operational excellence, best in class customer service with continual process improvement.

  • Liaison with the NOC Manager to ensure the NOC Engineers maintain the performance of customer networks remain optimized, ensuring that maintenance, repair and system provisioning efforts are coordinated, communicated, scheduled and resourced accordingly.

  • Host Operational and Maintenance meetings for PNOC contracted undersea systems

  • Ensuring PNOC Monthly Reports are submitted to customers on time

  • Provide NOC Weekly Report to VP of Customer Solutions

  • Liaison with the NOC Manager to ensure that operation management policies, standards and procedures are properly implemented, enhanced, and maintained, including training, issue reporting and resolution, problem management, metrics collection, performance reporting, and trend analysis.

  • Direct new NOC contract review and execute internal process with the customer and in SubCom.

  • Liaison with the NOC Manager and NOC Associate Security Officer to ensure that all operating processes meet the regulatory compliance of all governing US Agencies and satisfies all contractual obligations.

  • Market and expand NOC Services, where applicable.

  • Consistently ensure that business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with SubCom policies, procedures, and core values.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree required, preferably a technical Master’s Degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in undersea systems in a supervisory or management technical role

  • Experience and technical knowledge of data networking

  • Requires competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus and inspirational leadership

  • Customer Service Focused - the ability to deliver sustained high performance and high levels of customer satisfaction - Wide international community experience and well versed in serving customers from any nations

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively translate and communicate complex technical information and risk to all levels of internal and external organizations

  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, excellent analytical ability, metrics driven.

  • Team building, mentoring and coaching skills.

  • Work well under pressure with differing levels of Management.

  • Fluency in English and other languages a plus.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information and communications.
