Posting Summary

The Research Assistant will work on tasks of varied levels of research-related activities, from preparing documents (e.g., publication, grant writing, literature reviews, IRB-related items, etc.), to data management and analyses, and communication with all parties involved (e.g., collaborators, participants, administrators, etc.). Some key responsibilities include.

Duties include:
  • Set up surveys and questionnaires in Qualtrics.
  • Assist with and coordinate Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, approval modifications, and study completions.
  • Monitor data quality per intervention protocols and multi-site evaluation plan.
  • Assist with data downloads, entry and management (e.g., cleaning and recoding) to prepare for data analyses.
  • Coordinate data collection through surveys, questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, chart reviews, and other sources

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Master's degree in a relevant social, medical science or biomedical, plus at least one (1) year of experience in a public health-related research environment is required.
  • Comfort with performing tasks at various levels of complexity (from literature searches to data entry, to grant proposal writing assistance and study coordination) is essential. This position is ideal for a graduate-level student seeking exposure to all aspects of biopsychosocial research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A PhD/DrPH student in social sciences, public health, or related field is highly desired.
  • Intermediate proficiency with data management systems, health informatics and SPSS (data management and analyses) is preferred. Familiarity with NVivo is a plus.
  • Active CITI Program research training certification preferred.
  • Experience and comfort in working with various types of collaborators is preferred, including academics, community-based partners, medical/healthcare cadre, and members of various minority groups including sexual and gender minorities.
