As a Software Development Engineer, it’s up to you to define, design and refine the tech that keeps us one step ahead of listeners. Anticipate. Innovate. ABOUT THE TEAM
Audible’s Stagg platform engineering group is responsible for building core platforms that support our surface teams such as iOS, Android and Web. This group’s mission is to build services, tools and infrastructure that would support surface teams, helping them build product features faster and promote consistency across surfaces. The group currently manages a server side rendering platform which is driving Audible’s server driven UI strategy across apps and web. This is a fast growing org which is also breaking ground on numerous other platforms that has potential to shape Audible’s technical strategy for the next decade.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will...
Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications for the world's largest audiobook creator and provider
Identify and resolve software defects through code review, log analysis, metrics examination, debugging, and other troubleshooting methods
Write maintainable and scalable code for software components as part of an agile engineering team
Collaborate with stakeholders to envision, design, develop, test, and launch customer-centric software that inspires and impacts users
Apply computer science, engineering, and analysis principles to solve moderate-scale problems
Continuously enhance testability, operational excellence (OE), and documentation for owned software components
Handle data classification, storage, and management in accordance with company policies
Participate in the interview process and provide mentorship to fellow engineers

Basic Qualifications
Programming experience with one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C++, C#), including object-oriented design –
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
1+ years of experience in software development
Preferred Qualifications
Great communication skills - ability to think creatively and adapt the message to the audience
A high-quality bar; just-enough documentation, unit testing, code reviews, test automation, continuous integration & deployment and a preference for agile methods
Strong problem-solving skills; adaptable, enterprising and willing to take ownership
Full stack software development (Javascript, Java)
Aptitude for dependency injection frameworks and associated techniques using technologies like Spring or Guice
Experience in multiple AWS services
Familiarity with DynamoDB and NoSQL
Server-side development experience in Java
