Your Team & Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Developer on/in the OCC Operations Team you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, software engineers and delivery professionals to improve OCC operations and operations intelligence platforms.You will develop software and automated solutions to manage the lifecycle of infrastructure services as we solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services, and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to applied experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning.
Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day
Meet with team members to determine requirements for continuously monitoring system performance and health of critical systems.
Continuously evaluate existing views/sites/metrics and implement changes as needed.
Meet with businesses and users to understand critical observability points of interest within a system, process or application then turn those requirements into customer facing views.
Analyze logs, metrics and alerts from critical systems and built custom views, points of interest and overall system health.
Build advanced observability views to show critical metrics for in-house OCC systems.
Configure observability tools and develop and refine alerts, reports and views for easy customer consumption.
Identify system bottleneck, overall system costs, performance issues, testing results with custom dashboards.
Support development efforts and advancements around the organization internal website and continue adding new features and maintaining existing development efforts.
Collaborate with different business units building comparison views showing current teams overall workloads while comparing them to historical trends ultimately showing areas of improvement.
Ability to work with POs and CPOs to understand what metrics are important to their areas and application, then bring that back to the team and create appropriate metrics for visibility.
Create easy to follow documentation for end users to follow when using different observability tools and calling out what critical metrics and their impact.
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
Leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts and perspectives to the benefit of the organization
Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills
Applied experience with several of the following:
A mix of both technical expertise. Analytical skills and the ability to well with team members as well as on your own.
Observability platforms: PowerBI, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, Tableau
Web platform: HTML, SharePoint, Confluence
Agile: Jira knowledge, and Jira observability dashboard creation., Miro knowledge
Programming Languages: Python, Shell/Power scripting, Groovy, Modern languages
o Application Programming Interfaces (API): Consumption & Development
o Test/Quality capabilities & methodologies (functional & nonfunctional) and associated tooling including quality automation
o Infrastructure & Cloud Security best practices including DevSecOps
o Dev Ops Tools & Practices: awareness, understanding of DevOps automation tools, practices & capabilities (continuous integration & continuous delivery)
o Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Development and Design Fundamentals including SDLC and coding standards
o Cloud Computing: Understanding and knowledge (of 1 or more): AWS, Azure or GCP
o Cloud service consumption
o Disaster Recovery and High Availability
Preferred Qualifications
o Financial/Insurance industry knowledge is a plus, not a must

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $105,100.00 to $156,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
