Job Overview:
In busy outpatient department, confirm benefits, obtain authorizations, make reminder calls to patients; copying, filing, faxing and scanning documents; provides phone and receptionist coverage for other staff as needed; check patients in and out for appointments and alert staff that patient has arrived.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma
3 to 5 years office experience required, good organizational and communication skills required.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Computer skills required
Preferred:
- One year (1) secretarial experience
Scheduling Requirements:
Shift- 8:30-4:30pm
Monday- Friday
Full Time
Essential Functions:
Calls patients to confirm scheduled appointments for next day, as requested
Registration of new patients
Delegate calls to appropriate area
Call no shows next business day to reschedule appointments
All other duties as assigned
