The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Manager, Product Management - Digital Bioprocess Solutions to lead our sensors products portfolio for use in biopharma production applications. This will include portfolio management, strategy development, pricing, life cycle management and top/bottom line growth management. This role will be a unique combination of external partnership development and traditional product life cycle management to differentiate Avantor's position in bioprocessing.

The Manager, Product Management will be responsible to understand the market needs, understand competition and accordingly drive our sensors and smart systems design efforts that are highly competitive and meet/exceed customer needs. Working externally with the sales team, this position will be responsible for driving the Technology adoption and driving the internal organization to support and expand the product range.

What we're looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Science, or Engineering required; master's degree in scientific field or MBA strongly preferred.

  • Experience: 10+ years' experience in life sciences industry, product management, or market development.

  • Deep understanding of sensor integration in bioprocessing applications.

  • 5+ years technical or commercial experience with automation or advanced analytics technologies.

  • Technical competence and familiarity with bioproduction or closely related industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate business cases and guide objective decision making process.

  • Results oriented with high sense of urgency.

  • Strong project management and planning skills, and comfortable making decisions and adopting changes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in matrix organizational structure.

  • Ability to travel 10% - 20% both domestically and globally.

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Function as the business owner, lead the sensors and automation portfolio of products within Biopharma production business, including meeting or exceeding revenue and gross margin targets, lead all aspects of business.

  • Provide data related to competitors, the market, product and capability positioning, revenue and unit or capacity forecasting working with planning functions, identifying key business priorities, and pricing strategies.

  • Develop long-range product strategies and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of the sensor product and automation platform. This includes identifying, establishing, and leading strategic collaborations, customers, suppliers, and industry opinion leaders.

  • Collaborate with strategy and business development teams to identify and mature opportunities for partnership and value creation in the sensors/automation space, including but not limited to reselling, licensing, co-developing, OEM-in, co-marketing, and other partnership agreements.

  • Partner with sales to define go-to-market effort and work hand-in-hand with our commercial teams to implement commercial strategies. Enhance market share gain and customer satisfaction for digital solutions, Drive demand through impactful sales and marketing campaigns.

  • Participate in senior leadership team meetings and in strategic planning, including setting objectives and strategies as well as take accountability for implementation and results.

  • Work collaboratively in a highly matrixed organization to achieve results including driving cross-business unit and divisional initiatives.

  • Be a subject matter expert for sensors and automation portfolio to build broad based expertise in sales and marketing functions.

  • Liaise with Marketing to develop effective product collateral and campaigns.

  • Represent Avantor at conferences and tradeshows, able to effectively communicate product strategy and tactics to the market.
