The Prudential Insurance Company of America Lead, Software Engineer in Newark, New Jersey

Lead, Software Engineer, The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ: Build applications and integration points that support Document Management tools and products. Brainstorm, gather analysis, design, program, integrate, test and release. Ensure the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards, using modern design patterns and architectural principles. Develop high quality, well documented and efficient code adhering to all applicable Prudential standards. Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end process and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact. Write unit, integration tests and functional automation, researching problems discovered by quality assurance or product support and develop solutions to address any problems. Provide a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies. Provide input and coach team members and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day. Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.Telecommuting permitted 100%.Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience; OR a Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: • Utilizing programming languages: Python, Java, or JavaScript; • Utilizing frameworks: React, Springboot, Node.js, or full/mean/mern stak; • Implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA) patterns; • Using web service technologies, including API, REST, JSON, SOAP, JDBC or MySQL; • Utilizing CI/CD; and • Implementing Agile Principals. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:• AWS development and architecture pattern; and• Implementing products specific to Document management.Telecommuting permitted 100%.
