Job Description
An opportunity is available for a Fixed Term/Temporary Graphic Designer to develop visual elements for NJ PBS productions. Specific responsibilities include:
- Design and produce graphic elements for broadcast, web and print with a primary focus on daily animations for live evening news broadcast.
- Collaborate with producers, junior staff, journalists and editors to conceptualize visual elements for on-air and online segments. Graphic artwork for news segments may include charts, graphs, diagrams, maps, digital photographs and formatted text for quotes or statements. Original logo designs are required for special programming titles and branded segments.
- Deliver files in final format to editors for post-production and control room for live broadcast.
- Non-broadcast design projects include promotional material for magazines, flyers, posters and website banner advertisements.
Please note this is a fixed-term/temporary role to provide on-call support.
Qualified candidates will possess strong planning, organization skills with the ability to problem solve and work well under pressure within tight deadlines. Additional qualifications include:
- One (1) year of experience working in digital media required, with demonstrated skills in typography, design layout, animation and visual communication;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Candidates with knowledge of digital file format compression for still images and video are preferred.

Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The compensation range for this position is $25.97 - $26.62 per hour. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
