Job Summary:

Horizon's Cloud Architect is responsible for the management and maintenance of Horizon's cloud computing system. This position is responsible for developing cloud strategies, evaluating cloud applications and hardware, and organizing cloud systems to meet the operational needs of the organization. This role will closely work with Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure teams to modernize and transform environments.

Design, build, and test cloud architecture to ensure large amounts of data can be transferred and stored efficiently. Maintain information accuracy and security while initiating bulk data transfers. Use prior knowledge and creativity to troubleshoot and solve technical issues as they arise. Vet cloud providers and third-party services that provide high-quality storage options within budget. Create data transfer and storage standard operating procedures and policy documentation while adhering to industry standards and best practices. Keep up to date with developments on current cloud computing solutions and processes. Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on using and accessing data on the cloud, especially during major transfer, updates, or changes. Serve as the cloud architect subject-matter expert for the marketing team and at company webinars, trade shows, and panels. Participate in Architecture Review Board decision making.

Education/Experience
  • HSD or GED required, Bachelor//Master's Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience) in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Five years' experience as a cloud architect or similar role.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Additional Licensing, Certifications, Registrations

AWS, Azure, and GCP Certifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, applications, and trends.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software application, and design.
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or other major cloud computing services.
  • Strong cloud migration and data management skills with an emphasis on data privacy and security.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and can thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the willingness to collaborate with cross-functional departments and teams.

Salary Range:

$133,900 - $182,805

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
