Summary:
The Chief of Cloud Computing is a cloud technology advocate who will lead the Cloud enablement and drive Cloud maturity at NJT. This role will be responsible for the Cloud strategy and execution within the IT organization under the office of CTO I&O. The Chief of Cloud Computing will partner with teams across Business, Business Technology, App-Dev, Platforms, End User, Networks, Security and other technology partners to drive Cloud strategy and delivery for efficient use of cloud platforms. This position also includes leading a team responsible for the architecture, design, and administration of various physical and private/public cloud-based infrastructure, support and management of multiple operating systems and associated server hardware and cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS/Azure), as well as troubleshooting and support for Authentication, Messaging, Microsoft 365, Storage, Backup/Recovery, hardware and OS patching and system monitoring technologies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provides the architectural leadership in shaping strategic technology programs (e.g., Enterprise Technology Strategy), which focus on Cloud Computing initiatives.
Continuously pursues expert-level level technical acumen.
Strategize, plan, and provide oversight for Cloud implementations, migrations, upgrades, and standardization across the environment.
Maintain and develop knowledge of Cloud based solutions, services, and customer’s business issues to deliver range of Cloud Services.
Implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies for data analysis, automation, and decision-making.
Establishes working relationships with strategic technology providers.
Implement and align systems that accomplish the company’s Cloud Initiatives and Goals.
Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to successfully deliver Cloud Services.
Analyzes business needs presented by the user community and or clients related to technology.
Directs and prioritizes the workload of direct reports.
Ensures appropriate strategy and resource plans are set to meet project timelines, goals, and expectations from the business.
Serve as an escalation point for issues, provide guidance and resolve issues as necessary.
Responsible for employee performance assessment.
Handle annual budget requirements and ensure cost effectiveness.
This Position Supervises:
Director, Cloud Operations/Engineering
All Cloud Computing Team Members
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in a Computer Science-related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience
A minimum of 12 years of broad senior technical experience.
Must include project leadership in large scale information technology projects.
In lieu of degree, one year of experience may be substituted for each year of education
Knowledge and Skills:
8+ years in an IT role as a strategic thinker that relates technology solutions to customer use cases.
5+ years’ experience managing Public Cloud technology stacks such as AWS, Azure, VMC on AWS, etc.
3+ years of proven experience working with Robotic Process Automation technologies.
Direct work experience in hybrid infrastructure management and exposure to application development and enterprise architecture
Broad and deep knowledge across numerous IT infrastructures, platforms, tools, and technologies, such as:
Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Windows Severs, Linux Servers, VMware (ESXi)/VCF/NSX/VMC on AWS, Rubrik, RPA, Solarwinds monitoring, AWS, Azure, and other Cloud based computing.
Comprehensive knowledge of most aspects of IT design & administration for on-prem, private and public cloud solutions.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally with business and technical audiences.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- AI, AWS, Azure, or Microsoft certifications preferred.
