Job Overview:
The Transplant Assistant for the Lung Transplant Program works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team and is responsible for supporting the clinical and administrative staff by assisting with patient evaluations and care. Assist the transplant coordinators in all phases of transplant: pre-transplant evaluations, transplant, and post-transplant. Performs medical assistant functions in the lung transplant clinic vital signs, follow up appointment testing and procedure tracking/scheduling.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech training with knowledge of medical terminology, registration, coding, experience with customer service and medical office responsibilities required.
Preferred:
- Medical Assistant Certification
Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

Essential Functions:
Inputs data as needed or directed and accurately
Retrieving and recoding labs, assisting with patient
Performs medical assistant functions in the lung transplant clinic vital signs, follow up appointment testing and procedure tracking/scheduling,
Retrieving and recoding labs, assisting with patient phone calls and general assistance to transplant coordinators,
Venipuncture/phlebotomy when necessary
General office duties,
