Posting Summary | Under the direction of the principal investigator, the candidate will lead and execute research projects related to the pathogenesis of tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial lung disease. The focus of the research performed by the candidate will be the study of host lipid metabolism and role of sex hormones in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, and the characterization of the airway inflammatory environment in pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease. The candidate will prepare manuscripts for publication, take care of the day to day operations of the laboratory, train students and postdoc fellows, and submit research proposals and final reports for funding agencies. |

Minimum Education and Experience | Applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience, excellent communication skill and a in depth knowledge of microbiology, eukaryotic cell culture, macrophage infection with BSL3 pathogens, and clinical sample processing is critical. A minimum of 8 years of research experience in tuberculosis field is mandatory. Experience in imaging flow cytometry, paper and grant writing is preferred. |
