The Teacher Emotions, Characteristics, and Health (TECH) Lab in the Center for Research in Education and Social Policy is seeking a full-time post-doctoral research associate to contribute to a 4-year project funded by the National Science Foundation. The project will support the design, development, testing, and evaluation of a teacher professional learning program, with project activities to be conducted in partnership with local DE public school districts as well as with researchers internal and external to UD. The anticipated start date is September 1st, 2024 and the anticipated end date is August 31st, 2026; however there may be opportunities to extend beyond this date pending availability of funds.

Major responsibilities of this position include contributing in a leading role to the conceptualization and design of program content; initiating and maintaining partnerships with local schools, districts, and state departments of education; participating in a supportive role in project-specific qualitative and quantitative data collection activities as well as leading a novel program of research using project resources; providing mentoring to graduate and undergraduate research team members; and assisting in the analysis and dissemination of research products, reports, policy briefs, and presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A doctorate in education, psychology, or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to active research projects involving human subjects in education, psychology, or a related field.

• Expertise in at least one of the following areas of research methodology: quantitative research design and analysis; qualitative research design and analysis; mixed-methods research design and analysis; or implementation science.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior contributions in a leading role (i.e. supervision, project management) to active research projects involving human subjects in education, psychology, or a related field

• Experience developing and testing novel teacher professional learning opportunities/ interventions.

• Topical expertise in any of the following areas: teacher health and well-being; teacher professional learning; elementary mathematics education; teacher education; culturally responsive pedagogy (both general and/or in mathematics); or education policy.
