The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) organization has a mission to create marketplace demand and drive commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative products, partnerships, marketing, and customer experiences.

OnBrand – American Express’ In-House Creative agency – is on journey of exciting expansion. The Senior Digital Project Manager, OnBrand will report to a Director of Project Management, and directly manage creative planning, execution, and oversee the production for high-complexity creative marketing projects, as well as oversee junior Project Managers in leading execution of medium to low complexity projects. They will work collaboratively with OnBrand creatives, card design producers, and account managers as well as Amex marketing partners, brand and business unit stakeholders, and at times external Integrated Agency Teams to deliver best-in-class creative deliverables.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be solution-oriented and flexible. They must have experience creating, monitoring, and maintaining action plans for high-visibility initiatives requiring rigorous timelines with parallel workstreams, and always seek to identify opportunities for improvement. The candidate must have experience working with creative, production (content, print, digital), and account team leads and guide all participants to achieve the highest possible standards.

Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directly manage a portfolio of work, responsible for project intake and planning, resource management, creative planning, execution, and production for high-complexity digital and print projects and oversee Project Managers in executing medium and low complexity projects. Connecting dots for the portfolio team across many workstreams to ensure team can focus on what is priority at the moment.

  • Work closely with project and production team leads to proactively drive end-to-end project delivery (e.g., timeline management, risk assessment, and hard cost budget management) for a given set of projects.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and at the highest quality level.

  • Proactively assess any risks and escalate any issues if needed.

  • Manage handover of projects between the studio and OnBrand teams, setting up project planning discussions, discovery facilitation, creative kick offs, creative, internal and marketer reviews and driving status meetings

  • Partner with Account Leads, Creative Strategists, and Card Productionto ensure client requests are feasible, in-scope, and in-budget.

  • Leverage agency systems and tools (e.g., Workfront) for overall work-planning, team communication, and project management.

  • Manage, mentor, and lead junior project management team, prioritizing mentorship and coaching through feedback.

  • Proactively support colleagues and collaborate with them to help achieve targets. Create a positive team environment through co-operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience as a Creative Project Manager from a leading creative agency or in-house brand

  • Strong knowledge of creative production (print, digital, emails, OOH, branding)

  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent follow through and ability to keep projects on track and delivered on time

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies

  • Ability to adapt quickly and be open-minded to learning new skills and adaptable to changes to workflow

  • Comfortable using various data management systems and tools (CMS, Excel, Google and Microsoft suites, Smartsheet, etc.)

  • Ability to work with a Project Management tool (e.g., Workfront)

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
