New York University Post Doctoral Associate (Lupoli Lab) in New York

Applications are solicited for an individual to be appointed as a postdoctoral associate under the supervision of Prof. Tania Lupoli. The research will focus on carbohydrate and peptide chemistry for applications in microbiology.

We are seeking a postdoctoral associate capable of the design and synthesis of glycans and peptides that contain biorthogonal handles to study their interactions with cellular biomolecules in bacterial cells. Strong applicants will have an interest in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in their synthetic projects and encourage safe laboratory practices. Postdoc applicants should have a background in chemistry and will learn standard biochemical and microbiological techniques, some biosafety level-2, employed by the laboratory. The selected postdoc will configure/prepare/operate scientific equipment, organize and order laboratory supplies, perform analysis of data, and be able to clearly share and present these data at weekly meetings. Importantly, successful applicants will abide by ethical behavior, and will promote an inclusive environment in the laboratory. Applicants that apply for separate postdoctoral fellowship funding will be prioritized.

The terms of employment, which would initially be a year, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, this position's annual base salary range is $62,500.00 –$62,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry and no more than two years of postdoctoral training.

To be considered, all applicants must submit a cover letter summarizing research experience and specifying their interests in this position (less than two pages), a curriculum vitae (including a complete list of publications), and two contacts to serve as references (previous research mentors are preferred as references).
