New York University Associate Research Scientist Part-time non exempt (Fenton Lab) in New York, United States

The responsibilites of the Associate Research Scientist include:

  • Collaborating within a large research team, including supervision of new trainees in rodent research ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and including the training of other members of the team

  • Surgical implantations and behavioral training

  • Neural recordings from mouse hippocampus, thalamus and cortex using Neuropixel probes

  • Trouble-shooting and ensuring smooth compliance and communication among lab members, PI and the veterinary facility

  • Data analysis of behavioral and complex neural data using sophisticated analytical tools

  • Preparing manuscripts and materials for publication and other communication, including archiving of analysis code and data for dissemination within the research community.

  • Performing routine laboratory duties, like ordering and equipment maintenance in support of research project progress

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is $44/hr. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

    PhD in Neuroscience or related field and 10 years of experience in rodent research
