Ankura University Associate, Turnaround & Restructuring in New York, New York

This position supports the Ankura Turnaround & Restructuring Business Group - one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.

Practice Summary: T&R is an exciting, fast-paced environment in which our professionals partner with clients to address critical issues including over-levered balance sheets, liquidity constraints, unprofitable business units, and adverse industry conditions. Clients rely on Ankura professionals to solve complex challenges with the expectation that they will quickly assess the situation, develop a strategic plan, and effectively execute the turnaround.

Position Summary: Our firm is looking for finance professionals with 0-3 years of experience to join the Turnaround & Restructuring team at an associate level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software (i.e., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Ability to work with complex data sets and provide insight.

  • Ability to take direction from superiors and give accurate updates and time frames concerning progress of projects.

  • Preparation of presentations, reports, analyses and summaries of research for clients and management.

  • Experience with financial research including company reports, SEC filings and various online databases.

  • Must have a strong ability to independently manage and fulfill multiple tasks.

  • Demonstration of ability to succinctly express oneself in business communications, both electronically and during meeting and presentations with clients.

  • During your time in the T&R practice, you will build a solid understanding of the bankruptcy process, out-of-court restructuring process, financial models and statement analysis.

  • Over time, you will develop a professional network within the industry among all levels of personnel.

Basic Qualifications, Skills and Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 0 - 3 years of relevant experience within the restructuring and general consulting industry.

  • Willingness to travel often and work overtime as needed.

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related quantitative field.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $50,000 to $120,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
