Minimum Qualifications Manhattan Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Transportation Supervisor 1 to plan and schedule the use of vehicles, transportation of patients, and delivery of facility supplies. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.Minimum Qualifications: Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program as a Transportation Supervisor 1 if they have:• 3 years of experience in the management or supervision of fleet operations or daily dispatching of motor vehicles from a pool of at least 30 vehicles; or• 6 years of experience overseeing the maintenance of motor vehicles and keeping records and reports of that maintenance from a pool of at least 30 vehicles.ORCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Transportation Supervisor 1 eligible list.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.ORIn accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Transportation Supervisor 1 at Manhattan Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position’s minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.

Duties Description As a Transportation Supervisor 1, you will oversee all the activities of the motor pool including:• Planning and scheduling all vehicle use.• Scheduling inspections, repairs, and routine and preventative maintenance for all vehicles.• Supervising and training staff.• Preparing reports on maintenance, fuel usage, surplus vehicles, and accidents.
