The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Reshef Lab at the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) seeks a highly motivated Research Technician to contribute to groundbreaking research in bone marrow transplantation, CAR-T cell therapy, and cancer immunotherapy. Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and in collaboration with the lab team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing translational immunology.

Primary responsibilities include developing and conducting biological assays to monitor immune responses in patients undergoing transplantation or CAR-T cell therapies, working with animal transplant models to develop new therapies for graft-versus-host disease,

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct biological assays to monitor immune responses in transplant and CAR-T cell therapy patients.
  • Work with animal models to explore novel treatments for graft-versus-host disease.
  • Contribute to laboratory operations, including maintaining detailed records, inventory management, and ensuring a culture of scientific excellence.
  • Master a diverse array of techniques, such as advanced flow cytometry, cell culture, single-cell sequencing, and immunohistochemistry.
  • Possess the opportunity to lead independent research projects, with potential for presentation and publication.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • Proven proficiency in sterile culture techniques.
  • Laboratory experience, demonstrating a strong aptitude for learning new technologies and a meticulous approach to experimental work.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and as a collaborative team member.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with immunological assays, cell culture, and flow cytometry.
  • Background in mouse models.

Other Requirements

  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and system training requirements.
