Position Summary
Our focus is on understanding the mechanisms of glioma development, heterogeneity and response to therapies. We utilize transgenic, pre-clinical mouse models, clinical specimens, and a combination of molecular and microscopy analyses to further our understanding and treatments of this disease.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for daily maintenance of laboratory operations and performing experiments in support of the scientific research conducted in the lab.
Responsibilities
45% Biological experiments: Western blot, Immunohistochemistry, all areas of histology, staining.
10% Check/Maintain small animal colonies.
10% Assist with small animal surgeries.
10% Transport items throughout the medical center, including but not limited to: requisitions, reports, slides, blocks, and surgical specimens.
10% File, track, and retrieve items including but not limited to: requisitions, reports, slides, and blocks.
5% Lab maintenance: Help with re-stocking lab supplies autoclaving.
5% Tissue/blood processing.
5% Perform other duties as necessary to the function of the lab.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology, or physics or a completed animal husbandry program
Other Requirements
- Basic science research experience
