Bloomberg LP Technical Specialist in New York, New York
Position Duties: Conducting and coordinating release operations, monitoring quality and stability status, quickly and accurately identifying problems, performing detailed and meaningful diagnosis to determine the root cause, applying solutions or remediation steps whenever possible. Recognize both imminent and long-term systemic threats to our software quality and work closely with infrastructure engineering teams to address them. Identifying and eliminating defects and providing accurate assessment of in-flight software stability which is then used to guide release decisions. Performing software release activities based on our deployment schedules, as well as triaging and diagnosing issues coming in through different DRQS' buckets and early stage software issues flagged by automation failures, manual testing and Engineers. Collaborate closely with engineers and support staff to ensure urgent issues or release blockers are escalated and prioritized accordingly. Performing manual functional and exploratory testing as part of test-plan development and ensuring that test coverage is maintained and improved. Facilitate the resolution of issues by effective communication across multiple teams.Job Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or related and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept two (2) additional years of experience in the job offered or related work experience.Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following skills: Software troubleshooting and debugging tools; Project management; Analytics and reporting technologies such as Splunk, Qliksense, Humio, and Grafana, Analyzing call stacks from software crash dump files and correlating that with changes in internal source code; Performing manual functional and exploratory testing on systems as part of test-plan development to replicate issues.Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
Minimum Salary: 138,000 Maximum Salary: 158,000 Salary Unit: Yearly
