ConEdison Technical Manager (3L), 59th Street Station in New York, New York

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in an operating area. or

  • Master's Degree with a Bachelors degree and 6 years of experience in an operating area.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in an operating area.

Relevant Work Experience

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years prior direct or indirect supervisory experience required.

  • Ability to interpret and dissect operating reports, maps and blueprints.

  • Must possess strong leadership and relational skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of steam generating systems; steam/power utilities and steam distribution systems.

  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the General Instructions Governing Work on System Electrical Equipment (Rule Book), Steam Operations Procedures, safe work practices and procedures, operating orders & work permits and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

  • Strong oral, written, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Comprehend and interpret engineering drawings (including schematics, one-line diagrams, P&IDs and functional logic diagrams) and be able to provide marked prints of field conditions.

  • Working knowledge of the Operating Orders and Work Permits process as well as safe work practices and personal protective equipment necessary to work in a generating station.

  • Experience working successfully on employee relational or labor relations issues.

  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Required

  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge of the Work Management Systems (e.g. Maximo, DataSplice, AutoLog, COSRS). Preferred

Licenses And Certfications

  • Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.

  • Must be willing and able to respond to system emergencies.

  • Must be willing and able to work in an environment that includes heat, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations.

  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders and stairs.

  • Must be willing and able to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces).

  • Must be willing and able to work with and in the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems.

  • Must be willing and able to walk, stand, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach.

  • Must be willing and able to travel within O&R and CECONY service territories as needed.
