THIS POSITION WILL BE OPEN TO ALL EMPLOYEES CURRENTLY SERVING AS A STATION SUPERVISOR LEVEL I

Responsibilities

The incumbent will handle labor relations issues and related functions under the auspices of the Office of Labor Relations. These functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as Step I Hearing Officer and/or Step II Management Representative for disciplinary matters.

  • Act as Step I Hearing Officer and/or Step II Management Representative for contract grievance matters.

  • Advise Stations supervision/management regarding disciplinary matters, including review of and requests for related documentation and related contract administration.

  • Processing payroll deductions for Station Agent prior shortages

  • Perform related administrative and record keeping functions, including updating electronic databases.

    Compensation Note: You will maintain your current rate of pay.

    Experience and Education

  • Five (5) years of Stations experience, two years of which must be in the capacity of a permanent Station Supervisor

  • An Associate degree or higher in Labor Relations, Public Administration, Transportation or other related field with five (5) years of Stations experience, including a minimum of one year as a Station Supervisor

  • A satisfactory equivalent

    Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of NYCT Rules, Regulations, Labor Agreements, Policies and Procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word Access and Excel) and PeopleSoft.

    Selection Method

    Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview.

    All appointments, with the exception of Department of Subways’ employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
