The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to specific members of the Data Management and Analytics Unit, the Data Assistant is responsible for supporting the PHIA Project and other surveys with a range of tasks, including monitoring reports, statistical analysis plan (SAP) development, SAP execution, analytic programming and validation, testing of study instruments on tablets and review for consistency, development of standard operating procedures, preparation of reports and presentations for donors, and acting as a statistical methods consultant.

The position is contingent upon funding availability

Responsibilities

  • Update, write, validate, and run statistical programs for monitoring and statistics (30%)
  • Summarize data for monitoring and donor reports (e.g. SAPs, Powerpoint, dashboards) (20%)
  • Support documentation updates (e.g. data dictionaries, SOPs) (15%)
  • Assist with dataset cleaning and data management (15%)
  • Assist with conducting data analyses and exploratory analyses (10%)
  • Testing of study instruments on tablets and review for consistency (5%)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint or Google Drive
  • Basic data analysis (preferably using SAS)
  • Demonstrated writing skills: reports, presentations, and/or protocols
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong formatting skills using the Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of public health, preferably including global HIV/AIDS
  • Knowledge of R or other statistical language for making figures
  • Experience creating maps or other geospatial products
  • Knowledge of data cleaning methods
  • Master of Public Health
