The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing is looking to hire a Columbia University student to assist (in-office) with nationwide research studies exploring infection prevention and control or hospice use in post-acute care settings. The candidate will work with a team of researchers at the Center for Health Policy at the Columbia University School of Nursing.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with programming national surveys in RedCAP or Qualtrics;
  • Assisting with data management;
  • Assisting with data cleaning in R or Stata, specifically survey responses;
  • Assisting with statistical analyses of survey responses and publicly available datasets in R or Stata;
  • Conducting literature searches;
  • Providing assistance with conference presentations and posters: o Formatting posters according to conference instructions;
  • Inputting data into tables and generating graphs for posters and PowerPoint presentations;
  • Providing assistance with manuscript publishing and grant writing:
    • Formatting according to author and grant guidelines;
    • Inputting data into tables and generating graphs;
  • Attending weekly research-related meetings (via Zoom), and;
  • Performing other related duties, as assigned.

This is a Temporary position (up to 1 year).

This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and current enrollment at Columbia University.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous research experience, working knowledge of Stata, and familiarity with Qualtrics or RedCAP is desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team.

  • Proficiency/experience in biostatistics, statistical analyses, data visualization or data science.

  • Working knowledge of R to perform basic commands.
