Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to become a part of our team within the non-profit sector in NEW YORK, New York. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity where you will be tasked with managing various accounting activities such as auditing, account reconciliations, and handling accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the auditing of invoices to ensure accuracy and proper documentation

• Manage the process of accounts payable and receivable

• Conduct regular account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy

• Assist in the monthly closing process, including the preparation of journal entries

• Oversee daily cash receipts and ensure they are accurately recorded

• Utilize Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel for various accounting activities

• Monitor and review budget modifications for accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Ensure correct payment processing across all customer accounts. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing

• Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain Journal Entries

• Familiarity with the Intacct accounting software

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for financial data management

• Experience in handling Daily Cash Receipts

• Demonstrated competency in carrying out Month End Close procedures
