Sponsored Brands (SB) as part of Amazon Advertising org is building world-class brand shopping experiences to define and deliver a collection of brand shopping products that drive long-term customer value. SB is on a mission to make Amazon the best in class destination for shoppers to discover, engage and build affinity with brands, making shopping beautiful, delightful & personal. We empower brands of all shapes and sizes to attract shoppers in the research and consideration phases of their shopping journey, through visually stunning, inspiring and relevant sponsored shopping experiences. The Sponsored Brands (SB) Supply team is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and operational maintenance of SB across the various shopper platforms. We own the end-to-end process of integrating with the shopper facing experiences, conducting experiments to optimize supply growth and monitoring SB performance. Our services serve both billions of Amazon shoppers and millions of Advertisers internationally. We are working on multiple cross-org architectural and business projects with highest impact and visibility – all are critical, forward-looking, strategic opportunities for Amazon. Key job responsibilities

  • Build and own high quality infrastructure and software.

  • Design and propose long term technical roadmaps.

  • Dive deep into unknown technical domains and bring the knowledge back to the team.

  • Develop close partnership with other teams within Amazon, engaging with the engineering community to share learnings and grow.

  • Mentor and influence junior engineers.

  • Advocate for software best practices

  • Dive deep into advertising customer and business data.

A day in the life

As an SDE II, you will start by learning about our existing products and technologies. You will spend most of your time tackling difficult technical challenges and implementing new features across a variety of tech stacks. You will design major parts of our software solution under the guidance of Sr. SDEs. You will influence other engineers by advocating software best practices and improving software development processes. You will start influencing product decisions by providing technical insights and suggestions. You will become an expert on advertising at Amazon, understand customer and business data, and own our operational excellence.

About the team

The Sponsored Brands (SB) Supply team is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and operational maintenance of SB across the various shopper platforms. We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented individuals to join our team of SDEs, helping us on our mission to continue to grow and evolve advertising at Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
