Yeshiva University Senior Locksmith in New York, New York

Position Summary:

A Senior Locksmith, Grade XI performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of new and existing lock systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair and replace locks for all buildings of the University;
  • Update records of key code and computer lock code changes;
  • Maintain locksmith shop supplies, conifer with vendors on supplies, pricing, availability, new products and repair of lock hardware;
  • Provide guidance to others lock, cash bar, and lock hardware installation;
  • Assign duties to staff and provide routine guidance;
  • Work with Security Department on sensitive lock issues and thefts;
  • Maintain key system;
  • Perform door repairs as needed;
  • Keep up with new trade skills and technologies;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma and 5 years of experience as a locksmith is required.
  • Locksmith license is required.
  • Valid state driver's license is required.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Must possess the strength and dexterity needed to perform the job and the physical ability to move equipment as necessary;
  • Must adhere to operational safety rules and regulations as deemed by the University;
  • Must be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills and ability to interact with building/office occupants effectively;
  • Respirator Fit Testing may be required.

Salary Range:

Grade 11

1199 New Hire rate: $33.23

1199 One Year of Service rate: $33.91
