MetLife Senior Financial Consultant in New York, New York

Role Value Proposition:

Manage relationships with investors, stakeholders, and analysts. Represent financial position of our global organization to stakeholders, shareholders, analysts, and the Finance team. Manage queries and questions.

Performs a variety of financial studies to analyze and report financial information of both MetLife and peer companies. Determines validity of data and provides supporting explanations of conclusions reached.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works on basic to more complex financial analyses, assignments or projects.

  • Provides support to the Investor Relations team in a variety of areas including financial analysis, marketing, investor communications, presentations and reports to senior management and lines of business.

  • Monitor shareholder information, including changes in ownership at both the institutional and fund levels.

  • Prepare materials for investor meetings, conferences, earnings releases and other investor relations events.

  • Ability to identify industry trends and drive competitive analysis.

  • Keep track of financial results, strategy and research for MetLife and peer companies.

  • Monitor MetLife Investor Relations website and ensure timely postings of financial documents, press releases and other materials.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience.

  • 7+ years financial experience in a public or private company environment.

  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, principles, and practices.

  • Must have excellent power point and excel skills.

  • Strong project management and communications skills.

  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to senior internal and external audiences.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment when dealing with all levels of the organization.

  • Hard-working, proven attention-to-detail, and desire to learn.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential documents and information in a highly professional manner.

  • Ability to operate in a global fast paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Polished, articulate, creative and a positive approach to executing upon desired outcomes.

Preferred:

  • Completion of or progress towards CPA or MBA preferred.

  • Insurance industry experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg preferred.
